Abstract

This article presents a reflection from the work in the PROEXT- SESu/MEC that is title School Education for Maroons at the Municipal Education Department of Belo Horizonte City. The objective was to work with the SMED-BH in the development of actions that could help, effectively, the processes of implementation of Law 10.639/2003 and its Curriculum Guidelines for Teaching of Afro-Brazilian an African History and Culture  as well as the Curriculum guidelines for  school education for maroons in municipal schools serving children and youth belonging to three maroons, which are recognized from the point of view of the ownership of the land, culture and history and urban maroon communities. Are these: Luízes, Mangueiras e Manzo Ngunzo Kayango, located in the capital of Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte.
