Abstract
Palmares é um tema que nunca sai de moda na historiografia da escravidão. No
decorrer dos anos, têm emergido novas perspectivas sobre uma das maiores comunidades de
escravos fugidos das Américas. Mocambos de Palmares: histórias e fontes segue essa linha.
Organizado por Flávio Gomes, um dos maiores especialistas em quilombos no Brasil, o livro
reúne historiadores e arqueólogos nacionais e internacionais que, sob diferentes ângulos,
demonstram a pluralidade de temas que cercam Palmares e os caminhos de pesquisas a
seguir.
