Abstract

The occupation of urban space in capitalist society is uneven. The number of favelas, irregular occupations and areas of environmental risk grows each year. The population living in these regions has a color, are the blacks who occupy the worst places in both the productive sector and the city floor. The Don Bosco neighborhood in Juiz de Fora-MG is a locus of study to understand the process of urban espoliation that black people live, carrying each one, their life histories and the stigma of color that deeply marked their insertion in class society. Moreover, that lasts until the present day, represented in the place that they live and in the path of life.
