IMAGENS DE CONTROLE E OPRESSÃO RACIAL: A (IN)SATISFAÇÃO CORPORAL DE ESTUDANTES NEGROS

Abstract
A aparência possui um valor influente na sociedade, podendo gerar insatisfação corporal, especialmente quando há discrepância entre a percepção e o desejo em relação ao corpo. No caso de estudantes negros, além das pressões estéticas, o racismo intensifica esses impactos. Este estudo transversal, com 552 universitários pretos e pardos, utilizou o BSQ e a Escala de Silhuetas de Stunkard para investigar a satisfação corporal. Apesar da maioria estar eutrófica, houve alta insatisfação, com desejo por silhuetas menores. Os resultados foram interpretados à luz de conceitos que articulam dimensões estruturais e simbólicas do racismo. Compreender essa dinâmica exige ir além dos dados quantitativos, considerando os efeitos históricos, culturais e subjetivos das normas de beleza.
