REIFICATION IN AXEL HONNETH: ARTICULATIONS WITH BRAZILIAN RACIAL CONTEXT
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this work, we argue that the theories of Axel Honneth's existential mode of recognition contribute in a fruitful way to think about race relations in Brazil, which match well with the impression of his own image, as with the expression of the legitimacy of the other interactive relationships. In this theoretical framework we seek contributions to Brazilian contemporary and controversial discussions, namely: the relation of black with himself, education in fundamental level, the government acts institutionalized and race relations in the highest strata of academic professionalization - the latter, inevitably traversed by the ideology of merit, persist obscured, silenced in Brazilian contemporary practices.
