Main Article Content
Abstract
This article uses the memories of residents of Maroon Community of Aldeia, located in the southern city of Garopaba – SC, in the neighborhood Campo D’Una, seeking, through the narratives, to present the events that allowed the group formation. Thus, the methodology of Oral History is the theoretical basis that supports the study. It is important to remember that studies about the afro-Brazilian issues find a prominent place in contemporary, because Africans and African descendants made themselves presents in different spaces with their customs, religiosity and work, performing, since the first moments of colonization, a crucial role in the ethnic and cultural Brazilian formation.
