MOBILITY AND POWER OF THE BLACK WOMAN IN SERTÃO DA RESSACA

Abstract
The article traces the trajectory of Eufrosina Maria de Oliveira Freitas, black woman who lived in the city of Vitoria da Conquista, Bahia in the historical period between the years 1859-1935. Through the itinerary of her life we may understand the wheels of economic, social and political power of the society at the time and analyze how it was possible to this black woman to ascend and participate of the networks of power constituted by individual owners of land. The notion of trajectory is treated here as a result of social struggles inside the field of power considering the relationships and interactions established by the individual to define their place in the social space.
