THE FOUNDATION OF PSYCHOLOGY AS A SCIENCE AND PROFESSION THROUGH THE WORK OF A BLACK SCIENTIST: VIRGÍNIA LEONE BICUDO VIRGÍNIA LEONE BICUDO
Main Article Content
Abstract
What was the role of Virgínia Bicudo, a black scientist, in founding the science and profession of psychology? How can we understand the intricacies of the collaboration of black women in epistemic thinking in psychology? Are they visible in the mapping of the field? How can we observe the realities that present themselves in the sense of the memory of Brazilian psychology and important female authors in the field? This essay is the result of a conference presented in April 2023 at the Oralities and Kitembo group of the Master's and Doctoral Programs at the Fluminense Federal University at a meeting of the Psychology and Racial Relations Working Group. The reception it received suggested that it be published in the dossier of this journal.
