Main Article Content
Abstract
The article demonstrates that Rede Globo de Televisão, the second largest commercial television network in the world, has a history of representing black Brazilians of stigmatized and / or subordinate way in their soap operas well as to deny the racism in Brazilian society in their newscasts. However, that network television widely reported racial insults practiced by fans of the Real Garcilaso team, Peru, against Tinga player, from the Cruzeiro Esporte Clube, from Brazil, passing the image of repudiation of racism. In other words, that would be changing their view on race relations.
