Cabelo como denúncia e via para a construção da negritude

Abstract
Hair is the central theme of this work, from semi-structured interviews conducted with eight black subjects, aged 26 to 45 years; it is intended to reflect on the following questions: What does hair tell us about our society? At what point did hair become such a powerful brand that it causes psychosocial effects in black people that can last a lifetime? What are the meanings of hair for black people? A thematic analysis was carried out and, from the results, it was observed that hair can be considered a
way to build and maintain identity. This identity is conceived through one's own gaze and the gaze of others, so hair can be a way of discovering being black, the strands are then a means of unquestionable denunciation, but they can also be great allies in the conception of positive blackness.
