O Pecúlio dos Ingênuos
Main Article Content
Abstract
Based on the documental analysis of a deposit notice from the year 1880, this text intends to transform the murmurs and noises of a few paragraphs into sayable spaces. Publishing some pages, fragments of the existence of a black family were rescued: Dorothea, João and four naive children; Joaquim, João Batista, Áurea and Amélia who sought shelter in the police and justice system of their time. The immoderate use of enslaved bodies by the agrarian elite and the consequences of this act in the judicial environment are studied here. The analysis reveals the way in which enslaved people (including children) were objectified in the field of civil law. The research method used was the archegenealogical one, inspired by Michel Foucault's research.
