WHITE-MESTIZO RACE: PROBLEMATIZATIONS ABOUT THE CONSTRUCTION OF A RACIAL INTERMEDIATE LOCATION
Main Article Content
Abstract
From studies of racial white themes – whiteness, that is increasing in Brazil since the 2000s, configuring an epistemic field of human sciences and among studies of race relations, seeks the development of problematizations about the construction of an intermediate racial location and treat in particular the white-mestizo race, namely, one who approaches, especially phenotypically, to the whiteness, but carries relatively other symbols and racial meanings. For such, we propose punctual reflections about the national constitution of the mixed race elements, mixing and miscegenation among political, scientific and empirical parameters, as well as we analyzed the Black Movement, regarding this approach, since we consider the leading reference on the anti-racist identity configuration process.
