Main Article Content
Abstract
Desta terra nada vai sobrar, a não ser o vento que sopra sobre ela, this article’s main object, was written by Ignácio de Loyola Brandão and released in 2018. The book is a brazilian dystopia that takes place in an indefinite future in wich people are monitored by electronic anklets. Though the text is a ficcional literary story, it has many references to things that took place in Brazil, both political, environmental and police field related. Furthermore the traumatic experiences of reality, the dystopic narratives evoque a discussion that brings back the Aristotelian “necessity” and “verissimilitude”, as well as the Barthesian “effect of real”, so that this article starts from the observation of the narrative strategies created by Brandão in Desta terra..., from athors such as Roland Barthes (2012), Luiz Costa Lima (2016), Jacques Rancière (2010), among others.
