Abstract

Based on a case study, the licensing of the BR 386 expansion in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, the article discuss the concept of environmental racism and presents the forms, processes and strategies of popular, community and territorial approaches adopted by the Kilombola Community Morada da Paz (CoMPaz), located on the side of the highway, in its cosmopolitical mobilization in favor of environmental justice and its quilombola’s right to be and re-exist.
