Abstract

This article is part of a larger study that investigated the blackgay “self-building” process in the intimacy of the interracial and heterosexual family; taking as a starting hypothesis the premise that the blackgays do not initially have positive identities which they can affirm, on the contrary, they are identities rejected from the point of view of the “other”; therefore, an identity condition given a priori. However, the dialectical effort of the “I” and the “Other” engenders the process of building blackgay. In view of this, it became necessary to use the (auto) biographical method. Three Bahian teachers participated in the project, however, here, an analysis of a core of meaning extracted from the life story of professor blackgays Rubião Bovary, who emerged as the protagonist of this research, will become the basic text from which organized the analysis focused on the family as a scenario of significance for the color / race of Rubião Bovary.
