BETWEEN LAPS AND AFFECTIONS: THE TIME AND TURN OF BABIES IN CHILDREN'S LITERATURE ON THE SUBJECT OF AFRICAN AND AFRO-BRAZILIAN CULTURE

Abstract
The work aimed to analyzethe books: Tanto, Tanto (COOKE, 2008); It is the birthday of Bernardo (ROSA, 2015) and Cheirinho de neném (SANTANA, 2011), allof children's literature on Africanand Afro-Brazilian culture written by Black women nad who have black babies as protagonists. Weidentified how they contribute positively to the construction of the identity of the black child based on the studies by Araujo and Dias (2019); Oliveira (2003); Debus (2017); Bernardes (2018). The results show that these books are constructed by texts and images that match a positive representation of black characters, presenting them in a way that values black a esthetics and affirming the agency of babies as producers of culture when they carry out their own experiences of this stage of childhood.
