THE BRANDS OF COLONIALITY: RACE AND RACISM IN THE PRODUCTION OF GEOGRAPHICAL THINKING
Main Article Content
Abstract
The text on screen aims to situate the categories of race, racism and race relations within the theoretical matrix of Geography. Our intention is to propose some possibilities for the interpretation of race relations in Brazil from a geographic analysis. We are convinced that the ethnic-racial issue is one of the many possible themes to be covered by the analytical leather of geographic science, mainly because it is possible to detect the record of this debate in the vast literature produced throughout the historical process of formation of geographical thought in particular in Geography literature produced during much of the 20th century in Brazil and worldwide.
